English
The plot came with eleven stone pines and one rule from the clients: none of them would be cut. The house is drawn around their roots. Its footprint steps back wherever a tree needs room, which gives every bedroom a slightly different view and a pocket of shade at the window.
Walls are 40 cm thick and finished in lime plaster inside and out. They keep the night's cool well into a July afternoon, and in winter the low sun crosses the whole living room through a six-metre opening to warm the back wall.
The palette is short on purpose: lime, oak, and local granite for thresholds and sills. Nothing is painted that doesn't need to be.
